ARTISTIC STATEMENT

My work explores the harmony and contrast between vibrant color and form. Each piece is an intuitive process, blending fluid lines and geometric precision to create a dynamic interplay of light and dark. While color often features in my art, I occasionally step into the simplicity of black and white, letting shapes alone evoke emotion. Through abstract expressions, I invite viewers into a world of movement and balance, where spontaneity meets structure.

Maria Juster Ralescu, a Romanian-Canadian-American artist, has lived in France and Canada before settling in New York in 1984. Inspired by her father, architect and artist Vily Juster, she began developing her artistic voice in 2002. Since then she has exhibited her work in various art shows. Over the years, Maria has explored several mediums -stained glass, watercolor, alcohol ink and collage - but now she primarily focuses on abstract mixed media and acrylic painting. She has had the privilege of studying with several accomplished artists including Eleanor Grace Miller and Theresa Bates. When not painting, Maria finds joy in gardening, knitting, and traveling.
